The Green Camel

An abstract fingerpainter, Kamelyta has always had an eye for bright contrasting colors. Her art is bold, unique, classy, quirky and definitely colorful.  Kamelyta discovered her talent for painting by experimenting acrylic on canvas and paper with her finger, in 2017.

"With one finger, I simply play with my colors.  I have no rhyme or reason. I let my emotions, feelings, and fervor dictate my finger. I don’t think, I don’t ponder, I don’t meditate. Just let it go. My life, my hunger, my sadness, my anger, my desire, my love, my stories, are all in these magnificent colors. Every piece has a story and I tell them through my colors.  I become alive."

Kamelyta’s bold works have been displayed in galleries in the Inland Empire, Los Angeles, Joshua Tree, and Laguna Beach. Her works were also displayed at the Ontario International Airport, Riverside Art Museum and Chaffey Community Art Museum.  She was featured in Mosaic, an art publication by The Little Gallery of San Bernardino, the Press Enterprise newspaper and Arts of Poetry Magazine.

Born in Malaysia, Kamelyta has been living in California for over 20 years.  When she is not painting, she’s busy hitting the heavy bags at a local boxing club or cooking spicy food.  She has two wacky teenagers whom she admits keep her prisoner in the kitchen.
